For example, at the points with x coordinate 0, dy/dx = 0. So, at those points draw horizontal line segments.
At the point (1,1), dy/dx = 12(1+2) = 3. So, at the point (1,1) draw a small line segment with slope 3.
At the point (1,-1), dy/dx = 12(-1+2) = 1. So, at the point (1,-1), draw a small line segment with slope 1
