The domain specifies the acceptable values for x. We have -sqrt(-x) , if I understand correctly, and we need to be taking the sqrt of a positive or zero number. so -x needs to be NOT negative, which means that x needs to be not positive. X can be negative or zero. Check a few to see and you will see that if x<= 0 we always get a legitimate output for this function.
