Need help with a math question

These values have an average of 8. What is the average distance of those values from that average of 8?

unfortunately, I can't answer this without more information—I'd need to see all of the actual values. To find the distance of each number from the group mean, you take that individual value and calculate how far it is from the average, (AVERAGE – VALUE). Then you sum those distances for each value and divide that sum by how many there are. that is, you calculate the average of those distances.
