What's the best way to design my slides if I don't want to use one of the generic templates in PowerPoint?

The best way to come up with a great design on an individual slide in PowerPoint is to insert the elements you want on the slide (text, pictures, videos, etc.) and then look at the Design Ideas that PowerPoint suggests (click “Design Ideas” on the Design ribbon). There are usually plenty to choose from (simply click on the one you want) and you can test them out and “undo” them if you don’t like the way they look. If you use a different design idea for each slide, it makes your PowerPoint stand out as sleek and creative! Alternatively, you can duplicate slides and change out pictures and texts for a more uniform presentation.
