Is judicial review a wise check on the other co-equal branches or is too much power vested with individuals that have little accountability?

US judicial review was established in the case of Marbury v.Madison (1803).

Judicial review is a check and balance used in Supreme Court to ensure the three levels of govt. balance their powers and abide by the Constitution. From my standpoint, it is a wise check that prevents dictator actions by public officials. It is the best because it can quash any sovereignty outside U S law under Article III Section 1.

Moreover, I don't think much power is vested on the Supreme Court because it recognizes its own limits.
