Find the cross product u*v where u=i +4j +5k and v=⟨5,−5,9⟩.

The easiest way to find the cross product of two vectors is to find the determinant of the 3 x 3 matrix with the unit vectors in the first row and the two vectors being crossed in the second and third row (of course, you can also put them in the columns since the determinant is the same for a transposed matrix). Are you familiar with finding the determinant of a 3 x 3 matrix?
