In words, the quotient rule is as follows:
Product of the 2nd function multiplied by the derivative of the first function, and from that you subtract the product of the 1st function multiplied by the derivative of the 2nd function , and the entire subtraction expression is divided by the square of the 2nd function. To represent this, where u is the first function and v is the second function, the quotient rule looks as follows:
