Use the Laws of Exponents to rewrite and simplify the expression.

1 / 3nth root of x^8

1 over 3 nth root of x^8 not 1 third...any help would be much appreciated, this is a question that comes up alot yet i cant seem to grasp on how to get the answer

Mark M.

Do you want the cube root of x^8? Or do you want (x^8)^(1/3)?

im sorry, its very difficult to type it out with the format but think of it as a fraction. 1 / 3nth square root and inside the root is x^8 . im not sure if nth root is the proper term but its the little number that goes on top of the square root.

Ok, so it's cube root of x^8 which is x^(8/3) or x^2 *cube root of x^2. Not clear how this "simplifies." Hope that's what you need.
