high school senior year project

We're putting together a project that combines two subjects: math and business, and we'd like to have a math problem. The use of derivative functions is needed. Would you be able to assist us with a math problem and its solution? Our subject matter is dependent on (profit, cost and revenue)

If you have a cost function, the derivative is the marginal cost which is the approximate cost of producing one additional unit from a given level (you could compare that with the actual cost). Similarly, the derivative of revenue is the marginal revenue (the approximate revenue from selling an additional unit) and profit = Revenue - Cost.
