Given the points (8,5) and (-8,-5)
Slope = -5 - 5 / -8 - 8 = -10/-16 = 5/8
Point slope form is "y - y1 = m(x - x1) where "m" is the slope and (x1,y1) is a coordinate on the line.
so,
either y - 5 = 5/8(x - 8) or y + 5 = 5/8(x + 8) would be equations of lines passing through those points.
