An international company has 12,300 employees in one country. If this represents 24.8% of the company’s employees, how many employees does it have in total?

Total employees = T = 12300/.218 = 56,422
21.8% is close to 20%
20% = 1/5
5 x 12300 = 61500
25% = 1/4
4 x 12300 = 49200
half way between them would be 22.5% with total employees about 55,000
21.8% is a little less than 22.5% so total employees are a little more than 55,000
56,422 looks about right, although it's rounded off slightly.
