Let x and y be the two amounts.
x+y = 22000
.09x +.12y = 2130
y = 22000 - x
0.09x + 0.12(22000 -x) = 2130
0.09x + 2640 - 0.12x = 2130
-.03x = -510
x = $17000
y = $5000
