I need help with my Math-first grade

Question

jacob has 12 fish and all of them aare either yellow or red. there are twice as many yellow fish as red fish. how many yellow fish does jacob have? how many red fishb does jacob have?

Y=2R

Y+R = 12

2R + R = 12

3R = 12

R = 12/3 = 4 red fish

Y =2(4) = 8 yellow fish

4+8=12
