12 face cards. probability of drawing face card = 1 - probability of not drawing a face card in 3 draws
there are 40 non-face cards in a deck
assume sampling without replacement
probability of not getting face card in first draw is 40/52
now have 39 non-face cards and 51 cards, so
probability of not getting face card in second draw is 39/51
now have 38 non-face cards and 50 cards, so
probability of not getting face card in third draw is 38/50
probability of not getting a face card in 3 draws is 40/52 * 39/51 * 38/50 = 0.447
so probability of drawing a face card is 1 - 0.447 = 0.553
