Does it matter what type of modem I use with a Linksys E5350 Wireless Router?

When I hook the modem up to the router the WiFi should work? ( I’m new to this)

As long as the modem does not have routing capabilities (Modem/Router combination), you can connect it to your Linksys Wireless Router and experience no issues.
