 A tree is 160 feet tall. If Frances is standing 74 feet from the tree, what is the angle of elevation from the ground where Frances is standing to the top of the tree? Round to the nearest tenth.

Draw a right triangle with the tree as vertical side of the right angle and horizontal side of length 74 ft. Let θ be the acute angle of the triangle that is formed by the hypotenuse and horizontal side.

Then, tanθ = 160/74 = 2.162162162

θ = Tan^-1(2.162162162) = 65.2°
