The problem is the formula you used for the average velocity over the time period.
It should be:
- ( f(t2) = f(t1) ) / Δt, where Δt = t2 - t1
- It is basically the slope between two points.
So, your first average should be:
- ( 36(2.01) - 11(2.01)2 ) - (36(2) - 11(2)2 ) / 0.01 = -8.11
- The others should be -8.055, -8.022, -8.011
The thing to keep in mind is that average velocity (or most any average rate) is essentially a slope of the line connecting the beginning point to the ending point.
