T =500(300)^t -200

For t= 0

T = 500(1)- 200 = 300

Choice d is correct

I see "t" twice in the equation and am wondering if that is correct. Is the first t the temperature and the second t the time, in years?

I assume it is the latter, as written below.

If t in the exponent is in years, then the initial temperature would be for t = 0.

temp=500(300)^t-200

temp=500(300)⁰-200

temp = 500(1)-200

temp = 300

Any number raised to the "0" power is equal to 1.

temp=800(500)^⁰-600

temp = 800-600

temp = 200
