you probably mean f(x) = 3/(x^2-4) ?? Then f(x) is continuous except at the point where x=2 or -2
the denominator cannot equal zero. x^2 -4 = (x+2)(x-2) which = 0 when x is 2 or -2
but as written, you have f(x) = 3/x^2 -4 = (3/x^2) - 4, which is continuous everywhere except when x=0
