f(x) = a(x-h)^2 + k

Vertex is h and k.

y-h = a(x-k)^2 where (k,h) is the vertex.

or

x-k = a(y-h)^2 where (k,h) is also the vertex

it's the same whether you have an upward, downward, right or left opening parabola.
