How would you answer this question?

If you started with a square root function and needed to find the inverse, you would end up with a parabola. Graphically, those would never line up symmetrically. What do you have to do to fix this problem?

If you take the y= x² with a domain x > 0 they will flip over the y = x line symmetrically.

You could also take y = x² and x = y² which are both parabolas but x = y² is not a function.
