Given the following function, find f(x+2). f(x)=2x^2−6x

f(x) = 2x² - 6x

f(x + 2) = 2(x + 2)² - 6(x + 2)

= 2(x² + 4x + 4) - 6(x + 2)

= 2x² + 8x + 8 - 6x - 12

= 2x² + 2x - 4

f(x) = 2x² - 6x

f(x+2) = 2(x+2)² -6(x+2)

everywhere there was an x replace it with (x+2), much as you would replace x with a 2 if you needed f(2).
