Enter a piecewise function for the situation. Then complete the table and select the correct graph.
A local golf course charges members $20 an hour for the first two hours, $25 an hour for the next three hours, and nothing for the last five hours, for a maximum of 10 hours.
Part 1 out of 3
Express the cost C (in dollars) as a function of the time t (in hours) that a member plays golf at this golf course.
C(t) = 20 t if ________
___ if _______
___ if 5<T<10

C(t) = 20 t if 0 <= t <= 2
The next 3 hours will be $25/hr for 2 <= t <= 5
As C(t) = 2 * 20 = 40 at t = 2, we use y = mx + b to find b.
Then, 40 = 25(2) + b
b = -10
For 2 <= t <= 5, we have -10 + 25t, 2 <= t <= 5
As, for t = 5, -10 + 5(25) = 115
C(t) = 115 5 <= t <= 10
C(t) = 20t 0 <= t <= 2
-10 + 25 t 2 <= t <= 5
115 5 <= t <= 10
C(t) = 20 t. if 0< t less than or equal to 2
C(t) = 25 t + 40 if 2< t less than or equal to 5
C(t) = 115. if 5 < t less than or equal to 10
