Need more help on understandin why crimes occurs based on substance abuse and child abuse and neglict.

Not completely sure what you are asking. However, this is a complicated issue. Crimes increase based on substance abuse for many reasons, one of which is tied to people's willingness to commit crimes to get money for drugs/alcohol. Additionally, since a lot of drug use in and of itself is illegal, just using the drug increase crime. I don't know what you are asking about child abuse and neglect.

Depending on your exact question, the answers will vary. For example, substance abuse can be linked to criminality regarding actions taken while under the influence (i.e., DUI/DWI). On the other hand, a person may commit a crime as a way to manage their SU/addiction issues (i.e., a person may commit a burglary or robbery if they need funds to buy drugs/alcohol or they may steal the substance directly).
