If you ask the FBI, Corporations, and Customer Service advocates, the answer is YES. If you ask privacy advocates or Eric Snowden the answer is NO.

The argument is that this information helps the business BETTER serve there customers.

IMHO...You should control information that may defame or slander you and your identity. Privacy and Sovereignty should be BASIC human rights.
