First, look for common factors for all three pieces. I see that 4 goes into all 3 numbers. So, factor out a 4.
4(x2 + 7x - 4)
Now, look for a way to factor x2 + 7x - 4. There are lots of ways to factor trinomials like this. The old-school way is to use FOIL backwards. Look for two numbers that multiply to give you -4 but add to give 7. There are none. So you are finished. 4(x2 + 7x - 4) is the factored form

(2x,2x)+(7,2,2,x)-(2,2,2,2)
2x(2x+(2*7))-(2*2*2*2)
