asked 09/14/19System of equations SAT calculator prep problem, didn’t work in Matrixes?
5x + 3y
2y = c - 4x
6 = x + y
I tried entering into my matrixes and doing A^-1 B , but I got an error. And it’s an SAT prep question so I wouldn’t have time to do the entire system of equations. I guess I’m going about this wrong, please help i’m confused.

Hi Olivia.
Given : x+y=6
5x-3y=0
4x+2y=c
The first 2 equations can be solved for x and y ( x=2.25, y=3.75) Use these values in equation 3 and you find c=16.5.
That's what was asked for??
Hope this helps

The point of understanding is that for systems of equations you need the same number of equations as there are variables… With three variables, three equations is sufficient to solve for all three. The second is that your go to strategy for solving systems of equations, is elimination… Choose the two equations with only x and y, And illuminate the easiest variable, and then substitute your answer back into the simplest equation to get the other value. Lastly, substitute those x and Y values into the third equation to get C.09/19/19
