Here if you use the quadratic formula with
a = 2
b = b
c = 3
The roots of g(x) are at the x-intercepts: (x,0)
x = -b +/- square root of (b2 - 4*2*3 )
2*2
x = -b + square root of (b2 - 24)
4
x = -b - square root of (b2 - 24)
4
That's really all you can do for solutions (x-intercepts).
