Use the equation for a straight line y=mx +b where m=slope and in this problem m=3/5. The line that passes through (-6,-8) can be found using this information as follows: -8 =3(-6)/5 + b so -8 = -18/5 +b solve for b which gives -40 = -18 + 5b and 5b = -22 b=-22/5. So the equation of the line is y= 3x/5- 22/5.
