Math's a tool not a terror

Assuming your parallel passes through -4 one means (-4, 1) x =-4 and y =1 as the coordinates of the point

For your line y = -5/4x + 7

The line parallel would have the same slope of -5/4x

To calculate this parallel in the slope intercept form using the point (-4,1) if -4 one is your point just use this data to calculate b

1 = (-5/4)*-4 + b

1 = 5 + b

Subtract 5 from both sides of the equation

1 - 5 = b

-4 = b

and your parallel line is

y = -5/4x - 4

Give it a try
