A bag contains 3 gold marbles, 6 silver marbles, and 24 black marbles. You randomly select one marble from the bag. What is the probability that you select a gold marble? answer as a reduced fraction.

3/(3+6+24) = 3/33 = 1/11

There are 3+6+24 = 33 marbles in all. The gold marbles make up 3/33 = 1/11 of them so that is the probability of selecting one gold marble from the bag on one selection.
