True or False        Suppose the straight lines represented by a system of two linear equations in two variables are parallel to each other. Then the system has infinitely many solutions.

 

If you think the statement is true, then show that it is true. On the other hand, if you think the statement is false, then give an example that disproves the statement

Two parallel lines have no solution. They never intersect.

Parallel lines have the same slope.

y=x+2 (slope=1)

y=x+3 (slope=1)

x+2=x+3 because they both equal y

subtract x from both sides

2=3 is a false statement, therefore no solution !!
