solution of the inequality

–3 < 2x + 1 < 5 I don't understand how it equals to 0?

That's exactly what I got too, however the practice test is telling me that it is 0. I assume it is saying that "x=0" because -2<0 but 0<2

Agreed, 0 is AN answer but not the complete answer. Was the test multiple choice?

Perhaps if you post the exact wording? The inequality as written defines all possible values for x. There is no other information
