This does not equal zero!
-3 < 2x + 1 < 5
-3 -1 < 2x +1 -1 < 5 -1 (subtract -1 from each part of the inequality)
-4 < 2x < 4 (divide everything by 2)
-2 < x < 2
x is in the interval (-2,2)

Perhaps if you post the exact wording? The inequality as written defines all possible values for x. There is no other information06/24/19

That's exactly what I got too, however the practice test is telling me that it is 0. I assume it is saying that "x=0" because -2<0 but 0<206/24/19
