What happens if a driver refuses to sign a speeding ticket?

Not sure of other state laws but in New York State drivers don't sign the ticket. The Police Officer does affirming that the ticket was in fact issued and it is the drivers responsibility to pay it or go to court. If the driver doesn't pay or go to court their licence would be suspended and they would be charged with an unclassified misdemeanor if caught driving.
