At the beginning we have 1 pair rabbit. It gives 1 pair rabbit so now we have 2 pair rabbit.
1st month, it is 2 pair.
2nd month it is 4 pair.
3rd month it is 8 pair.
every month it doubles the previous value.
Number of rabbit after t month = 2 to power t
t is the number of months
After 12 months = 2 to power 12 = 4096

Thank you for responding. I'm sorry I'm not following the way you worded your answer. Perhaps if you could work the problem step by step I could follow your thinking.

Hi Mischell
Lets check the pattern of rabbit growth. Initially it was 1 pair. At the end of one month, they produce another pair. So, at the end of 1st month we have 2 pair. which is 2¹
Each pair produce 1 pair so, by end of 2nd month, they will produce 2 pair rabbit. So, by end of 2nd month totally we have 4 pair (2 pair producer, 2 pair new born). which is 2²
Now, we have 4 pair, they will produce 4 new pair, so totally we have 8 pair (4 pair new born, 4 pair old).Which is 2³.
So, by the end of "a" month, we will have 2ª, pair of rabbit. where "a" is number of month.
By the end of year a=12.
By, end of year, 4096 pair of rabbit.
I hope now it is clear......... :-) otherwise read it 2 or 3 times(I use to do that)

It would actually be 8192 since you forgot the first pair so they started with 2 bunnies instead of 0
