Let Milk cost be X
Sandwich cost be Y
Apple cost be Z

X+Y+Z = 3.5
X = 1.5Z
Y = 1.40 + Z
Z = Y - 1.4

1.5(Y - 1.4) + Y + (Y - 1.4) = 3.5

Solving this for Y
Y = 2

Plugging the value of Y for X and Z we get
X = 0.9
Z = 0.6

So cost of milk is 0.9, Sandwich is 2 and Apple is 2.
