The vertex of the graph will be at the lowest point of the graph and that will occur when |x+1| = 0  for every other value of x the |x+1| will be positive and the y value will be greater.

 

x + 1 = 0

 

then  x = -1

 

and when x = -1  y = -6

 

the vertex is (-1,-6)
