Factor the polynomial 3x^2 - x - 2 using your favorite factoring method. Your factors are (3x+2)(x-1)=0. Solve each factor... 3x+2=0 so 3x=-2 then x=-2/3 and... x-1=0 so x=1. Your solutions are x=-2/3 and x=1. You could also graph it with your calculator and find these solutions via the table.

I don't know how it happened but it should have been less than or equal to. 3x^2-x-2<=0
