Hi there! I know this answer is a little late, but better late than never. I swim for fun and exercise about 2 or 3 times a week during my lunch break, and my general rule of thumb is that if you feel comfortable walking briskly or jogging, you are fine to swim. 30 minutes to an hour is plenty of time for most people after an average meal. If your belly is so full that you feel sleepy, crampy, nauseous or bloated, it’s best to wait until your stomach settles before you get into the water. Light movement is great for digestion but always be careful if you feel uncomfortable. Don’t forget to stretch before you swim! Happy splashing! :)
