There is no need to feel ashamed. You are asking for help and making a valiant effort to understand a concept. Plus, you took the initiative to utilize valuable resource available to you. All of those are impressive steps
- 39 = 1/π * 11 *n
- We can simplify the right hand side by multiplying 1/π * 11/1. When multiplying fractions, multiply numerator * numerator and divide it by denominator * denominator
- Numerator * Numerator = 1 * 11= 11
- Denominator * Denominator = π * 1 = π
- Therefore we have 11/π
- 39 = 11/π * n
- We want to isolate n. To move the 11/π we need to carry out the opposite operation on sides.
- 39 / (11/π) = (11/π * n) / (11/π)
- Anything divided by itself is 1, so the (11/π * n) / (11/π) simplifies to 1*n or just n.
- 39 / (11/π) = n
- Since we don't like to leave fractions divided by fractions, some math manipulation will give us our final answer.
- 39 / (11/π) = 39 * π/11 as dividing a fraction by a fraction is the same as multiplying the fraction's numerator times the reciprocal of the fraction's denominator.
- Therefore n = (39π) / 11
