Cyclometer regularly showed about a kilometer longer after cycling with 53T x 19t, than with 53T x 18t. What happened?

Not a bicycling expert, but I can see that the second number represents wither a radius or diameter for the tires (18 vs 19). If the cyclometer recognizes the tire diameter and measures ROTATIONS, the distance travelled would be longer on a 19 mm/cm/inch tire than on an 18 mm/cm/inch tire. Distance = 2 *pi * radius.
Your 19 inch distance should be 19/18 = 105% or about 5% longer.

Not enough information. Is front chainwheel 53 teeth, and rear chainwheel 18 or 19 teeth? Was the distance in fact constant (problem with cyclometer hookup!) or was the pace and therefore distance different? Or are these data tire sizes???01/19/20
