High risk investing is by definition risky regardless of who is doing the investing.
Some people will say that young investors should have a higher tolerance for risk because they are likely to have more time to make up for any losses as well as more time to capitalize on compounding returns from successful investments.
At the end of the day, investing involves risk, and risk levels and appropriate tolerance for risk varies widely per person, and is based on each person's specific financial circumstances.
