i need help learning how to write a linear equation that represents the area and perimeter of a rectangle.

the lesson sheet they gave us shows the short side of the rectangle as (3x-3)cm and the long side as 6 cm however in class they did not specify on how we must write a linear equation using this information

A linear equation is of the form y = mx +b. The linear equation for the Area, y = 18(x-1) can be rewritten as: y = 18x - 18. The Perimeter is the length around the 4 sides of the rectangle = 2 x length + 2 x width. Given the above values for length and width, the linear equation will be: y = 2 * 6 + 2 * 3(x-1) or y = 12 + 6x - 6 or y = 6x + 6
