The box is half the size of the box containing $17,200,000.00 in $100 dollar bills!

Given the vagueness of this question, we have to make quite a few assumptions.
First, an American bill is cut roughly to the dimensions of 2.61" wide X 6.14" Long X 0.0043" Thick.
Because the bills are $100 denominations, first divide the total amount of money by the denomination to get the total number of bills in the box:
8,600,000
100 = 86,000 bills
Now, assuming the bills are stacked one on top of the other, we will need to find how tall our stack is:
86,000 * 0.0043" = 369.8"
Now you have the size of the box (assuming all bills are stacked):
In inches: Width = 2.61", Length = 6.14", Height = 369.8"
In feet: Width = 0.2175', Length = 0.511667', Height = 30.81667'
I am going to assume that the question is wanting to know the cubic feet of the box, not the square feet because we have a 3 dimensional object, therefore:
(1'/12")*2.61" * (1'/12")*6.14" * (1'/12")*369.8" = 3.4295ft^3

That is not a question nor answer that are consistent and assuredly correct, since it only offers one set of dimensions, while a box able to handle the volume the bills demands could be of nearly countless relevant and proper combinations of dimensions!
