apples = x + 18

 

peach = x - 9

 

so

 

x + (x + 18) + (x - 9) = 69

 

3x + 9 = 69

 

3x = 60

 

x = 20 = plums

 

apples = 20 + 18 = 38 pounds

peaches = 20 - 9 = 11 pounds
