Evaluating a function means putting in a number for x and finding out what the result equals. This question asks us to substitute 3 for x:
f(x) = 2ex
f(3) = 2e3
In some classes you can leave the result as 2e3, but if you need a numerical approximation you can do it on a calculator to get 40.17
