I have been making so many mistakes when reading questions, and I literally was about to chuck my computer. Like, I lifted it with rage!
I read "why" as "what". I swear that I saw "bacteria cells" but the question says "host cells".
So, I have begun using my finger to slowly go through each question and answer choice. Then I read it again.
I am a fast reader, and it's actually been very difficult to slow down. It's like my eyes skim the sentence, and my brain just inserts words that make sense in the spaces that are left.
Nothing is worse than seeing the answer and going "oooooohhhhhhh I could of totally gotten that right had I not misread."
I used to have the same problems. I recommend reading the last line of the question first and skimming the answers, so you can read the passage knowing what types of things you're looking for. Also highlighting information that could be important as you read.
