Good color palette, usable for the color blind?

I'm designing a chart right now, that will slowly have more items added to it. I'd like to create an list/order of colors for the items, that will be most usable for the color blind to differentiate between each item. Any ideas how/where to start?

Because designing palettes is so subjective (and maybe have external constraints like logo colors or other brand guidelines most of the advice you'll come across is color combinations to avoid:

1. Green & Red
2. Green & Brown
3. Blue & Purple
4. Green & Blue
5. Light Green & Yellow
6. Blue & Grey
7. Green & Grey
8. Green & Black

But there is a lot of good advice out there on things to not (not color combinations) to make your site more accessible to the ~8% of the world that has some form of color blindness. See:
