I have extensive experience in producing interactive and digital projects – from large websites (Sony, Haagen-Dazs) to integrated marketing campaigns involving websites and other online media (Be a Brit Different for Visit Britain) to Social Media (Visit London).

I began working in HTML when Netscape Navigator and IE3.0 were cutting edge browsers. I have kept up as the language evolved and its capabilities grew. And I have come to appreciate the craft and beauty of well-formed, valid HTML. More recently I have been working in WordPress/PHP/Javascript.

Over 20 years experience building websites and managing web development projects for companies including: Sony, Haagen-Dazs, Karcher, VisitBritain, London & Partners, The Council of Public Relations Firms, the Pajama Factory and Friends of Stuyvesant Baseball. W3C certified in HTML.

HTML is the first step that you have to master to become a web developer. I look forward to helping you on that path.

CSS,

CSS

I've been building websites for over 20 years using HTML, CSS, WordPress/PHP and JavaScript.
Dreamweaver,

Dreamweaver

I have used Dreamweaver in the past for creating websites and although I have moved on to other HTML IDEs (i.e. Notepad++, Atom) I can tutor students who are working with Dreamweaver. In my experience, most students will be required to use the HTML editor (as opposed to the WYSIWYG drag and drop editor) in Dreamweaver to create their website projects. Typically issues tend to be with proper HTML syntax, file structure etc. At that level HTML is HTML no matter what editor you're using.

Can't recommend enough!

I'm an MLIS student who was looking for someone to help me build a small site to host my portfolio. I was very overwhelmed at the prospect of learning HTML and CSS. I am grateful to have found Lee! He is a really excellent educator, who can break down big ideas and walk you through each step. By the end, I didn't just know how to do what I needed to do, but I knew why I was doing it. Because of his explanations, I was able to retain what I learned in our lessons, which is wonderful because I need these skills in library work! He is able to work at a student's pace / listen to their concerns and address them thoroughly. I never felt like lessons were too short or too long; he had a good sense of when we ought to wrap up and I could finish work on my own. Also: very quick response time-- scheduling was easy.

Answers the big questions and the small ones

There were some big-picture considerations about WordPress that I wouldn't have thought to ask (but really needed to know) that Lee offered. They've really set me on the right track. Great teacher and extremely knowledgeable.

Extremely good help nicely customized to my knowledge.

I'm a professional programmer who has also developed a number of HTML websites, but was having difficulty getting up to speed on Wordpress. Lee helped me make the mental conversion. He reviewed the Wordpress basics and then worked with me exactly as requested to the point where I now feel comfortable moving on. Thank you!

Helped unravel multiple WordPress problems

Turned out a website I had a developer custom-build for me was a custom-mess. Lee came in and started excavating the pieces that had been put together wrong, and cleaning up the first developer's mess. Can't wait to continue working w/Lee to create a fully functioning, easy-to-navigate WP site.

Extremely patient and knowledgable tutor!

Lee helped our teenage son set up his own blog on wordpress in a two-hour session. He explained all the various options. He helped tailor the blog to our son's interests and answered all of his questions in a very thorough, understanding manner. Our son feels so much more confident now and is posting regularly! Very grateful.

Learned A Lot

I learned an awful lot about 1) backing up my site 2) practical things I hadn't even asked for such as how to improve security 3) more knowledge about the inner workings of wordpress 4) No problems asking questions and confessing ignorance which are really important in learning and led, again, led to areas I hadn't anticipated. 5) became aware I have to know more about the nomenclature 6) I was smarter when I left than when I first came in

Knowledgeable tutor

Lee was very helpful in teaching me how to make changes to a website. Very patient and knowledgeable. I have little to none HTML knowledge and he was able to answer all my questions so that I could understand.
