Sales in the printing business have doubled for James in each of the last three months. During the last month, he made a profit of $520. If the pattern continues, what will be his three month total profit at the end of the next three months?

p = profit in first month
2p = profit in second month
4p = profit in third month
4p = 520
p = 105
For the next three months
total profit = 8p + 16p + 32p (profits doubles each time!)
total profit = 56p
total profit = 5880
For the second three months the total profit is $5,880.
